What I also enjoy about this season is the music. Do you know how there’s always that song (or songs) of the Summer you hear everywhere you go? The one constantly being played on the radio, at the supermarket, and from department store speakers. You may even hear the music being blasted from cars as they drive down the street. Regardless of your opinion of the music, you can always depend on it to put you in the mood for some summertime fun.
Although I’m more partial to 80s and 90’s music, I’ve also been listening to some new tunes. Now, I love old-school music and enjoy the nostalgic high I get from being transported back through time. However, I think it’s also important to embrace what’s current and create new memories. Most of the songs listed here were released this year, although there are a few songs from 2020 and 2021.
Also, the majority of the tunes included on this list are adult contemporary R&B tracks, but you’ll see other genres as well. Lizzo’s “About Damn Time,” Jack Harlow’s “First Class,” and Beyoncé’s “Break My Soul” are some of my favorites.
Whether you’re going on a road trip, enjoying a relaxing day at the beach, sipping some drinks at a rooftop party, or just sitting outside and enjoying the weather, these songs will certainly have you feeling those summer vibes.
